Ton Koopman: harpsichordist, organist and conductor Amsterdam Baroque Orchestra & Choir, Professor at the University of Leiden and is a Honorary Member of the Royal Academy of Music in London.



The International van Wassenaer Competition is the leading and oldest competition for old music ensembles. For 20 years, the competition has succeeded in supporting young, ambitious ensembles at the beginning of their careers. With both a jury and concerts filled with international top musicians, van Wassenaer has developed into a festival with a competition, concerts, master classes and more.



The results from the International van Wassnaer Competition 2011 are:

 

1st prize Den Haag Pianoquintet  Concerttour in Benelux van 10 concerten in 2012-2013                   €10.000
2nd prize Der Musikalische Garten    € 5.000,–
3rd prize  Ensemble Odyssee          € 2.000,–

 

The Otto van Wassenaer Audience prize € 1.300,– was won by Der Muskalische Garten

 

Tomoki Sumiya (doublebass won the Musica Antica da Camera prize € 1.000,– for the best individual performance.

 

The Graaf Unico van Wassenaer Masterclass Award (€1000) was awarded to Ensemble Stravaganza
